Fix for Configuring Remote Session hanging when connecting to eLab

If you are attempting to conenct to eLab and are stuck on Configuring remote session as shown below you can follow the steps below to manually add a registry entry or download the fix-configuring-remote-session.bat and run it on your system.




To run the batch file to fix this problem:

  1. Click on the link to download it.
  2. Once it is finished downloading, right click on the file and click "Run as Administrator".
  3. Windows will display a box saying it protected your PC. Click "More info".
  4. Click "Run anyway".

To manually fix this problem:

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard, or click on the Windows button at the bottom of your screen. A picture containing text

2. Type "regedit" and click on the Registry Editor app icon that comes up.
 
3. If a message appears asking "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?", click YesThis will open the Registry Editor, which may look confusing but all we need to do is go to the proper location and make one small adjustment. Be sure to not make any other changes besides the ones specified in this guide.

4. Copy this text and paste it in the top bar of the Registry Editor and press Enter:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services\Client
 
You can also navigate to this folder using the left sidebar.

5. Double check you are in the correct folder. Then right click in the white blank space and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value
 
6. Right click the "New Value #1" item you just created and click "Rename". Set the name to fClientDisableUDP 
 
7. Now right click on fClientDisableUDP and click "Modify...". In the box that appears, set Value data to 1 and press OK.
 
8. Exit out of the Registry Editor and reboot your computer.
 
9. Once your computer reboots, ensure your GlobalProtect VPN is turned on and is connected to csu-net. Try connecting to eLab and see if the change worked.
