Hi (Insert User Name),
Since enabling Windows Hello for Business on all faculty and staff computers, we have seen an increased number of support requests related to logging in using a PIN or biometric options (fingerprint or facial recognition). To resove this issue, follow the instructions below.
Issues you are experiencing and how to resolve:
- PIN not working or being rejected
- Fingerprint or facial recognition failing or unavailable not working
How to Fix this on your own:
- This is the result of making Windows Hello available to everyone. It has broken the "hacked" biometrics that we did prior to enabling Windows Hello. If you go to Settings > Accounts> Sign in options. We have found if you remove the PIN and recreate it should be good to go. You will need to re-enroll your fingerprint/facial recognition after your PIN is removed and readded. If you are off campus you will need to be connected to Global Protect when setting this up. If you are on campus you should be good (NO VPN Requried).
